MSI-CIEC

MSI-CIEC is a collaboration among the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), and the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO). It aligns itself with the Alliance for Equity in Higher Education and many CI resources, projects and activities, such as the ones mentioned below., the National Science Foundation’s TeraGrid (TG), which includes the National Center for Supercomputer Applications (NCSA), the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) along with six other major resource providers, the Department of Energy’s Open Science Grid (OSG), the Biomedical Informatics Research Network (BIRN), Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery (LEAD), among others.

Most significantly MSI-CIEC will leverage its resources to assist and encourage research or education collaborations to engage in research or curricular development or proposals to seek funding for such activities. We would like to encourage, foster, broker and/or assist your campus and the students you serve to become meaningfully engaged in cyberinfrastructure enabled research or education.

The Minority Serving Institution CyberInfrastructure (CI) Empowerment Coalition (MSI-CIEC) invites you to join the rapidly growing number of people and institutions worldwide that are transforming their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and other programs through Cyberinfrastructure (CI).

To build these collaborations and partnerships, we respectfully ask for some contact and other information about you to gauge the available expertise and awareness of, and current interest/ involvement in CI among our member institutions. Results will be used to help match interests, disciplines and activities of MSI faculty/ administrators with CI-related resources, projects and activities, and help broker possible partnerships. It will also help the MSI-CIEC team to target specific resources to your needs and those of your institution. It will assist us in finding MSI participants for campus visits, executive awareness, professional development activities, proposal development or other special projects.

The information you provide will contribute toward a collaborative web portal to assist us and enable you to find appropriate collaborators, as well as information and resources, for proposals, research or education projects on your own campus or with another MSI or other college, university or CI project.
